Selecting Radar Level Measurement Instrumentation

02-04-2020

Radar level measurement instrumentation offers different frequency options. Omnitech typically works with three primary frequency tiers; low (6 Ghz), medium (25 Ghz) and high (78 Ghz). What is the difference? What application conditions dictate choosing one option versus another?

To correctly select radar level devices, Omnitech investigates each applicaiton. The potential for obstructions in the measurement area, the clearance available for mounting different nozzle sizes, short range vs. long range measurements, surface turbulence, light & dense foam, potential for lens build up and subsequent air purge requirements, condensation, dusty atmospheres, scattering signal, use in combination with a stilling well and angle of repose in solids applications.

If you have a level application at your facility and need assistance with choosing the best level radar instrumentation, reach out to Omnitech anytime to discuss recommendations.
